Thousands of Palestinians performed on Friday Fajr (dawn) prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike.
The Israeli occupation authorities prevented the worshipers from reaching the mosques with the exception of a few hundreds.
After performing Fajr prayer hundreds of Palestinians gathered in the courtyards of the two mosques chanting slogans in support of Palestinian hunger striking prisoners.
Palestinian factions and forces have earlier called for intensifying presence at the two Palestinian holy sites in response to the Israeli systematic Judaization policy and to show support for the prisoners.
Six Palestinian prisoners have been on open-ended hunger strike for different periods in protest at their detention administratively with no indictments or trials.
Prisoner Kayed al-Fasfous from Dura town in al-Khalil is considered the longest hunger striker as he has been on hunger strike for 115 days.
The other hunger-striking administrative detainees are Miqdad al-Qawasmeh Alaa al-Araj Hisham Abu Hawash Ayyad al-Harimi and Louay al-Ashqar. They have been on hunger strike for 108 90 81 46 and 24 days respectively.
