Thousands perform al-Fajr prayers at Al-Aqsa Ibrahimi Mosques

Friday 15-October-2021

Thousands of Palestinians managed on Friday to perform Friday Fajr (dawn) prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem despite the Israeli restrictions on their access to the site.

The Israeli occupation authorities prevented Palestinians from the West Bank to reach the Mosque with the exception of few hundreds.

The Israeli police forces also set up dozens of roadblocks conducted extensive searches and checks on Palestinians and their ID cards and prevented many of them from reaching the holy Islamic site.

After performing Fajr prayer hundreds of Palestinians gathered in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa to pray confirming the Palestinians’ spiritual links to the holy site.

Meanwhile thousands of Palestinians including families performed the dawn prayers in the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil.

Palestinian groups have earlier called to intensify presence at Palestinian holy sites in response to the Israeli systematic Judaization policy.

Palestinians also warned of Israel’s plans to turn into an attempt to take full control of the site and erase the Islamic and historic nature of the Mosque.
