Three Israelis killed one injured in shooting attack in O. Jerusalem

Tuesday 26-September-2017

One Israeli border police officer and two security guards were killed in a shooting attack on Tuesday morning at an entrance to the illegal settlement of Har Adar near Qatanna town northwest of Occupied Jerusalem.

Haaretz newspaper said that the 37-year-old Palestinian attacker was shot dead without stating his name affirming that the security coordinator of Har Adar also sustained serious injuries.

It added that the attacker is a resident of Beit Surik village in the northern West Bank who had a permit to work in settlements.

It explained that he arrived with a group of Palestinian workers at the back entrance to the settlement where border police officers suspected him and asked him to stop before he suddenly pulled out a gun from under his shirt and opened fire.

In this regard the Hamas Movement hailed the attack describing it as “a new chapter in the Jerusalem Intifada and a confirmation that the Palestinian people would continue their struggle to liberate their land.”

“Today’s operation means that our people reject the logic of begging for their rights through international institutions and will protect their rights and holy sites with their blood and lives” Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem stated in a press release.

“The operation says that all the occupation’s attempts to change the identity of Jerusalem will not go unpunished” he added.
