Thursday 30-December-2021

A horde of extremist Jewish settlers on Wednesday evening terrorized Jerusalemite citizens and opened fire at their homes in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood while Israeli police officers who protected the settlers kidnaped a local child.

According to local sources settlers opened fire at some homes in Sheikh Jarrah despite the intensive presence of police forces at the western entrance to the neighborhood.

Police officers also kidnaped 13-year-old Anas Ja’bari from the neighborhood following the settler attack on homes.

In retaliation Palestinian youths threw stones and Molotov cocktails towards the settlers before a large number of police forces stormed the neighborhood to protect the latter. One settler was reportedly injured in his head during the events.

Meanwhile violent clashes broke out on the evening of the same day between local youths and Israeli soldiers in areas near the towns of Lubban ash-Sharqiya and Beita south of Nablus.

Local sources told Quds Press that the clashes started after local youths stood in the face of settler provocations at the main entrance to Lubban ash-Sharqiya town.

Lubban ash-Sharqiya mayor Yaqoub Owais said that dozens of violent settlers escorted by soldiers stormed the main entrance to the town and embarked on provoking local residents.

Owais added that several local youths and men were already on alert for possible settler attacks and prevented the settlers from entering the town to attack homes and property.

Another round of clashes also broke out last night near Beita town after local youths torched tires near Mount Sobeih where an illegal settler outpost is located.

Every once in a while local youths rally near the mount and set dozens of tires on fire as part of daily evening and night protests they stage in the area to force the Israeli occupation army to dismantle the outpost on Mount Sobeih which overlooks Palestinian towns.Three Palestinian young men were injured one seriously last night when the Israeli occupation police opened fire at local youths in Qalandia refugee camp in the north of Occupied Jerusalem.

According to the Palestinian health ministry three young men suffered live bullet injuries during clashes with police forces in Qalandia and were taken to Palestine Hospital in Ramallah.

One of the young men was critically injured in his abdomen and the other two suffered injuries in their lower extremities.

The clashes started in the camp after police forces stormed it and the nearby town of Kafr Aqab in the north of east Jerusalem and kidnaped two young men from the town.

The young men who were kidnaped from Kafr Aqab town were identified as Malek Issa and Mohamed Rateb.

Another young man identified as Yousef al-Resheq was also kidnaped last night from his home in the east Jerusalem district of Silwan.
