Three Palestinians wounded in Israeli incursion into villages near Ramallah

Monday 16-March-2009

RAMALLAH (PIC)– Three Palestinian young men were wounded during an Israeli incursion into the villages of Beit Reema and Mazra Gharbia near Ramallah in the West Bank.

Palestinian eyewitnesses reported that IOF troops invaded the Reema village and opened intensive gunfire at unarmed Palestinian young men leading to the injury of two of them one in a serious condition.

Medical sources also said that a Palestinian young man was transferred from the village of Mazra Gharbia to Ramallah hospital after being shot by IOF troops at the entrance to the village.

A Palestinian citizen sustained injuries Sunday evening during an Israeli air raid on a civilian area east of Jabaliya in Gaza.

Medical sources said that an ambulance transferred a citizen who sustained shrapnel wounds in his body east of Jabaliya while other reports said that a Palestinian fighter was injured during the raid.

The Hebrew radio reported that the IOF troops kidnapped three Palestinian young men from Bateer town in Al-Khalil alleging that they possessed knives. The possession of knives is one of many pretexts used daily by IOF troops at checkpoints to justify the arrest of Palestinians.

Under heavy police and military guard Israeli bulldozers have embarked on destroying Palestinian agriculture lands and uprooting olive trees in the villages of Ras Tayra and Wad Al-Rasha southeast of Qalqilya.

Local sources in the villages said that dozens of Palestinian citizens and foreign activists still try to stop the Israeli policemen and troops from bulldozing the lands.

The recent Israeli actions in these two villages are carried out in pursuant to an arbitrary decision issued by the Israeli high court which gave orders to modify some sections of the apartheid wall to ensure the isolation of Palestinian villagers from their lands.

The Israeli army radio on Monday reported that the Israeli occupation forces rounded up 11 Palestinians in various West Bank areas at dawn today.
