Three corona deaths 440 new cases in Palestine within 24 hours

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah announced on Wednesday that three deaths 440 new cases of the coronavirus and 151 recoveries were recorded during the past 24 hours.

The ministry confirmed in the daily epidemiological report of coronavirus that the recovery rate of the coronavirus reached 98.3 percent while the rate of active infections reached 0.6 percent and the death rate was 1.1% of all infections.

It added that the new infections were distributed geographically to 157 in the Gaza Strip 138 in Occupied Jerusalem and 145 in the Occupied West Bank.

The new recovery cases were distributed to 85 in the Gaza Strip 16 in Jerusalem and 50 in the West Bank the ministry underlined.

The COVID-19 victims were recorded as follows: a female citizen from Deir Samet west of Dura and two deaths in the Gaza Strip.

The ministry pointed out that there are 11 critically ill patients who have been admitted to intensive care units.

Meanwhile Mai Al-Kailah the Palestinian Minister of Health said that the epidemiological situation in Palestine is dangerous as there was an increase in the number of new infections.

Kailah pointed out in radio statements that the number of active infections is more in the Gaza Strip than in the West Bank.

She called on citizens to go to the vaccination centers and receive the vaccination as 45 vaccination centers were opened on Tuesday and several types of vaccinations are available including Pfizer.

The minister called on citizens to adhere to all preventive measures such as wearing masks especially in closed places.

For his part Ali Al-Jabreni a member of the Anti-Coronavirus Committee in Jerusalem said that the city recorded a remarkable increase in the number of COVID-19 active cases reaching 154.

Jabreni explained in a press statement that in order to save the lives of the elderly a third dose was provided to everyone over 60 years old.

He urged the age groups between 13-16 years to receive the vaccination in order to safely return to schools after several weeks.

Jabreni called on Jerusalemites to refrain from traveling abroad as the variant Delta of the coronavirus is spreading globally.
