Three injured in clashes with IOF on Gaza border areas

Friday 15-September-2017

Three Palestinians were injured on Friday evening in clashes with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) near the eastern borders of the Gaza Strip.

Spokesman of Gaza’s Ministry of Health Ashraf al-Qedra said that three Palestinian youths were moderately injured after being targeted with tear gas canisters fired by the IOF soldiers at the demonstrators to the east of Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip.

Dozens of Palestinians demonstrated on Friday near the border fence separating the Gaza Strip and the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories in protest at the decade-long blockade imposed on the coastal enclave.

The IOF soldiers fired tear gas canisters and live and rubber bullets at the protesters who responded by throwing stones and Molotov cocktails.

Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are ordered to stay at least 300 meters away from the eastern border line. Israel calls this area “the buffer zone” and whoever approaches it gets shot or arrested.
