Three Hamas leaders on Thursday evening arrived in Cairo to join the Movement’s delegation which has been in the Egyptian capital for 13 days now.
The Hamas official Taher al-Nono said that the deputy head of Hamas’s Political Bureau Saleh al-Arouri head of Hamas Movement in the diaspora Maher Salah and member of the Hamas Political Bureau Zaher Jabarin arrived in Cairo on Thursday.
On Sunday Hamas officials Mousa Abu Marzouk Ezzat al-Resheq and Mohammed Naser arrived in Cairo to join the Movement’s delegation led by the head of Hamas’s Political Bureau Ismail Haneyya which had travelled to Egypt a few days earlier to discuss the reconciliation file and the latest political developments in Gaza.
This is Hamas’s longest visit to Egypt during which the delegation has met with the Egyptian Intelligence Minister Abbas Kamel and other senior officials.
Member of Hamas’s Political Bureau Khalil al-Hayya said in an earlier statement that in-depth discussions were held on four main files including the latest political developments in the Palestinian cause the humanitarian situation in Gaza the reconciliation and Hamas-Egypt bilateral relations.
Hamas said that its visit to Cairo followed advance arrangements and consultations with Egypt on ways to ease the crisis pushing Gaza toward collapse.
