ISTANBUL (PIC)– Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said he is concerned about Israel’s military escalation in south Lebanon referring to the recent clashes that resulted in the deaths of a journalist two Lebanese soldiers and an Israeli officer.
This came during phone calls he made Wednesday with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to discuss the clash with Israel in southern Lebanon.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement: “Hariri briefed Davutoglu on the latest developments in Lebanon and the clashes between the Lebanese and Israeli armies” adding that the two parties also discussed the summit in Beirut between the Saudi Arabian King and the presidents of both Syria and Lebanon.
It pointed out that Davutoglu briefed Clinton on his talks with Hariri and his fear of tensions once again rising in Lebanon.
