At least two Israelis were killed and two others were seriously injured on Sunday morning after a Palestinian young man stabbed a soldier and snatched his gun near the illegal settlement of Ariel in Salfit north of the occupied West Bank.
According to the Hebrew media one soldier and one settler were killed when a Palestinian stabbed the former at the Ariel junction stole his weapon and opened fire at him before targeting other settlers and passing cars in the area.
The Palestinian also hijacked an Israeli car on the road and opened fire at the driver who was also a soldier before he drove to the Gitai Avishar junction where he carried out a drive-by shooting injuring one soldier and a settler.
According to further Israeli news reports clashes were taking place between the Palestinian and Israeli soldiers in Barkan area north of the West Bank.
Reports also said that more soldiers suffered injuries in an exchange of fire with the Palestinian.
Consequently the Israeli occupation army have ordered nearby Israeli settlements to shut their entrances until the attacker is killed or apprehended. The gate to the Barkan industrial zone was also ordered to be closed.
The Israeli army has also closed off Salfit city and all its villages and towns.
