Two Palestinian detainees on open hunger strike

Two Palestinians detainees have been on hunger strike for over 50 days in Israeli jails in protest at their administrative detention.

According to the Palestinian Prisoner Society Ahmad Zahran 42 started an open-ended hunger strike 59 days ago while Mus’ab al-Hindi 29 started 57 days ago.

The Palestinian Prisoner Society said that Zahran a father of four children is an ex-detainee who had spent about 15 years in Israeli jails. The last time he was arrested was in March 2019.

Mus’b al-Hindi who has been detained since September 2019 is set to appear at court on 20 November to have his appeal against his administrative detention considered.

Both detainees are held under harsh conditions in Israeli jails and are subjected to deliberate medical negligence despite their worsening health conditions.
