The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) demolished two Palestinian-owned houses under construction in Al-Dyouk Al-Tahta town west of the West Bank city of Jericho on Thursday.
Local sources reported that IOF troops stormed the town in large numbers and demolished two neighboring houses owned by the local resident Hamdan Al-Ajlouni.
The Israeli authorities are pursuing various forms of harassment against Palestinians as a means of forcing them to leave their land– thereby leaving it clear for the expansion of Jewish-only settlements.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the occupied Palestinian territory had documented the Israeli army’s demolition of 698 buildings in – and the displacement of 949 Palestinians from – “Area C” of the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem in 2021 alone.
