BAGHDAD (PIC)– A Palestinian refugee was found dead Monday morning in Baghdad few hours after his kidnap at the hands of armed sectarian militias while another died due to inability to move him to hospital.

Well informed Palestinian sources in the Iraqi capital said that an armed group identified itself as part of the Shiite “Mahdi army” stormed Sunday night a residential neighborhood and raided Palestinian apartments.

The group members smashed belongings and stole money before kidnapping two Palestinians Anwar Mohammed and Anwar Shaaban the sources said noting that Mohammed was released a few hours later but was motionless as a result of savage torture.

Meanwhile the body of Shaaban was found on Monday morning despite his family’s attempts to mediate for his safe release. Signs of torture were all over Shaaban’s body the sources elaborated.

Shaaban suffered disability and could not properly walk on his feet. He used to work as a vegetable vendor.

Two days ago another Palestinian refugee died after his family could not secure his safe transfer to hospital due to the deteriorating security conditions in the capital Baghdad and fearing that armed militias might kill him. He later died of a heart attack.
