Two Palestinians accused of carrying out a resistance operation in Elad City last week were arrested on Sunday by Israeli security forces in a forested area near the central city security officials said.
A joint statement by Israeli military and security apparatuses announced the arrest of As’ad al-Rifa’ie 19 and Subhi Abu Shukair 20 who allegedly killed three people and wounded others in the ultra-Orthodox Jewish city last Thursday.
Images from Israeli media outlets showed masked security forces confronting the young men who were hiding among green shrubs in a rugged patch of land near the city.
The young detainees are from Jenin in the occupied West Bank which has re-emerged as a resistance bastion following a wave of deadly Israeli raids on Jenin and other West Bank areas in recent months.
Apart from the exposure of Palestinian citizens and their property to different Israeli violations on a daily basis across the occupied territories recent police aggressive practices and raids at the Aqsa Mosque are believed to have provoked such Palestinian retaliations inside and outside 1948 occupied Palestine.
