Saturday 26-December-2020

Two Palestinian citizens were reportedly injured and buildings sustained damage during Israeli aerial attacks on different areas of the besieged Gaza Strip at dawn Saturday.

According to local sources Israeli warplanes fired five missiles at an area in the east of al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City leading one child and another citizen to suffer minor injuries.

The Israeli bombing also caused large-scale power cuts in Gaza City and widespread material damage to Martyr Mohamed al-Dorra Pediatric Hospital as well as the Wadoud Mosque the Rehabilitation Center for People with Disabilities a sports ground and several homes and structures in the area.

Soon later another airstrike targeted an observation point in the east of Deir al-Balah City in central Gaza. No one was reportedly hurt.

A drone and another jet fighter also bombed an empty tract of land in the east of al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

A spokesperson for the Israeli occupation army claimed the airstrikes were in response to two rockets that had been fired towards Israeli areas on Friday evening adding that the rockets were intercepted by anti-missile batteries.

Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem described the Israeli aerial attacks as “barbaric that terrorized peaceful civilians.”

The spokesman affirmed that Israeli crimes would never break the Palestinian people’s will but rather it would boost their determination to uphold and struggle for their legitimate rights.
