The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah announced on Wednesday that two deaths 86 new cases of the coronavirus and 99 recoveries were recorded during the past 24 hours.
Mai Al-Kailah the Palestinian Minister of Health confirmed in the daily epidemiological report of coronavirus that 16 infections were recorded in the West Bank while two deaths and 81 new cases were recorded in the Gaza Strip.
Kailah said that the recovery rate of the coronavirus reached 98.4 percent while the rate of active infections reached 0.5 percent and the death rate was 1.1% of all infections.
She pointed out that there are 6 critically ill patients who have been admitted to intensive care units.
Regarding the vaccination campaign the minister noted that the total number of people who received the corona vaccine in the West Bank and Gaza Strip reached 566749 including 394652 who received the two doses of the vaccine.
Meanwhile Kamal Al-Shakhra the spokesman for the Palestinian Ministry of Health said that Palestine is on the verge of entering a fourth wave of COVID-19.
Shakhra confirmed in radio statements “Two weeks ago the virus began to spread and we took samples from all areas of the West Bank and there were 50 cases of the Delta variant in Palestine.”
He pointed out that neighboring countries have new variants of the virus and more cases needed to be hospitalized calling on citizens to adhere to preventive measures.
