DAMASCUS (PIC)– Three Palestinians were killed in the Yarmouk refugee camp south of Damascus on Wednesday after Syrian regime forces fired two missiles at the devastated camp.
The workgroup for Palestinians in Syria said that dozens of refugees were wounded in the incident while heavy material damage was sustained.
It said that many citizens left the area of the blast noting that the same area had witnessed the return of many refugees after they could not find another shelter outside the camp.
The report said that the Syrian regular army’s 66-day siege of the camp led to acute shortage in medical supplies adding that many people died especially patients suffering chronic diseases and children as a result of the shortage in medicine and in medical cadres.
The report said that camp inhabitants suffer from absence of power and communications in addition to shortage in foodstuff and fuel adding that the inhabitants were forced to burn their own furniture in order to cook for their children.
The workgroup said that Husseiniya refugee camp was witnessing a relatively calm period but still suffering from 86 days of siege that block entry of food supplies and heating fuel in addition to cuts in power and communications.
