Hisham Udwan manager of Rafah crossing said that both Palestinian and Egyptian sides have agreed on a new work mechanism for facilitating the travel of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip through the crossing in both directions.
In an exclusive statement to the PIC on Saturday Udwan said that the agreement stipulates the increase of the number of buses that enter Rafah crossing with a capacity of only 60 passengers each instead of at least 100.
“We appreciate the Egyptian role in facilitating the traffic of buses at the crossing which is opened today after a closure of less than two weeks. We hope the Egyptian authorities will continue such measures and the crossing will return to normal functioning” Udwan said.
