Amid Israeli fears of widespread unrest the Israeli occupation government decided on Wednesday to impose a general border closure on the West Bank and the Gaza Strip during the final days of the Passover holiday.
The closure will begin on Thursday starting at 5 pm and last until Saturday April 23 although the lifting of the closure will be dependent on the security situation according to Israeli news reports.
The Israeli occupation army claimed that exceptions would be made for Palestinians eligible to enter Jerusalem to pray at the Aqsa Mosque and for humanitarian cases.
The Muslim holy month of Ramadan which has occurred this year simultaneously with the Jewish Passover holiday has seen violent police raids on Muslim worshipers at the Aqsa Mosque and other areas in and around the Old City of Occupied Jerusalem.
