Wa’ed Society for Detainees and Ex-Detainees has warned that hunger-striking prisoner Maher al-Akhras may die any moment after his health condition reached a life-threatening stage.
In a statement on Thursday Wa’ed Society said there are attempts by the Israeli prison service to circumvent Akhras’s demand for his immediate release affirming that any offer not leading to an end to his administrative detention would not be considered by the hunger striker.
Prisoner Akhras has been on open-ended hunger strike for 74 days in protest at his detention administratively with no indictment or trial.
