Weekly anti wall march in Bilin declares support with Shalabi

Saturday 3-March-2012

RAMALLAH (PIC)– The weekly anti wall and anti settlement rally organized every Friday in Bilin village near Ramallah dedicated its rally this Friday to express support with Palestinian hunger striker Hana’a Shalabi.

Dozens of citizens and foreign activists were treated for breathing difficulty when Israeli occupation forces (IOF) used tear gas canisters to disperse the march in the village.

The IOF soldiers also fired rubber bullets and stun grenades at the participants when they approached a section of the racist separation wall.

Participants hoisted Palestinian flags in the march organized by the popular anti wall committee in Bilin and chanted slogans for national unity. They called for resisting occupation and for releasing all prisoners.

The organizing committee said that the demonstration this Friday was devoted to solidarity with Shalabi who has been on hunger strike for 16 days in Israeli jails demanding her release from administrative detention. It said that the march was also in solidarity with the two Palestinian TV stations closed by the Israeli occupation authority.
