Gaza’s women’s movement on Tuesday organized a protest in solidarity with the Palestinian writer Lama Khater who was arrested by Israeli occupation forces earlier in the day.
Head of the movement Rajaa al-Halabi in a speech condemned the abduction of Khater from her house at dawn because “she tells the truth about what happens in the West Bank”.
Al-Halabi stressed that Khater’s arrest is purely political and constitutes a blatant aggression on the freedom of speech.
Israeli occupation forces at dawn Tuesday kidnapped Khater after raiding her house in al-Khalil city.
A photograph from inside her house showed Khater cuddling her little child Yahya before she was taken away by Israeli soldiers to an undeclared place.
Khater is a well-known media figure and political analyst who wrote many political articles for newspapers and websites. She is known for her distinctive writings in support of the Palestinian resistance.
