Yesh Din: 15 settler attacks against Palestinians in three days

Wednesday 17-January-2018

The 1948 occupied Palestine-based Yesh Din human rights organization said on Tuesday that the Israeli settlers have carried out 15 attacks against Palestinian property in the West Bank in just three days.

Firas Alami the director of the organization’s field research department said that Yesh Din two days ago sent an urgent letter to the Israeli military commander in the West Bank asking him to do his duty to protect the Palestinian civilians who are regularly attacked by settlers.

Alami added that hundreds of Israeli settlers attacked the villages of Fara’ta and Urif inflicting severe damages on the Palestinians’ houses and property.

He explained that the number of documented attacks indicates that the Israeli army does not provide protection to the Palestinian civilians living under occupation calling on the Israeli authorities to abide by international humanitarian law.

The Palestinian researcher noted that after sending the letter more attacks were documented including a video broadcasted by al-Jazeera TV channel showing the destruction of nearly 100 olive trees by Israeli settlers in Huwara village while the Israeli soldiers were standing there watching silently.
