Ynet: Netanyahu to be investigated over corruption charges

The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth said that Israeli police will investigate Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on suspicion of involvement in financial corruption in the wake of charging him along with his wife Sara and his eldest son Yair with receiving a bribe from the Jewish businessman Arnon Miolczan.

The newspaper said that investigation with Netanyahu will continue in the case known as file number (1000) until the end of next April. The investigation requires questioning two main witnesses who are not available it pointed out.

Israeli police will also investigate Netanyahu on file number (2000) which is related to a deal between Netanyahu and the owner of the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper Arnon Mozes by which the latter would paint a more positive image of the premier in return for closing the Israel Hayom (Israel Today) a competing newspaper.

A third case against Netanyahu is known as file number (3000). It is related to buying 3 sophisticated submarines from a German company valued at about 6 billion shekels equivalent of 1.5 billion euros without the knowledge of Israeli Chief of Staff and former war minister Moshe Ya’alon.

Neither Israeli media nor the police however released any information on the file number (4000).
