Angry Palestinian young men on Monday evening closed the UNRWA service office in al-Fawwar refugee camp in al-Khalil south of the occupied West Bank.
A reporter for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that dozens of young men who were angry at the UNRWA for shrinking the services it provides for poor families forced employees to leave the agency’s office in the camp closed its doors and put up a notice saying the place would remain closed until further notice.
“The agency’s office was providing relief services for poor families every month but it stopped to do so and told the families that they would receive their food rations every three months” one of the young protesters told the PIC reporter.
“How can those poor people live? Who will help them in light of these curtailed services? Everyone should intervene” he added.
