The Jerusalemite YouTuber and activist Saleh Al-Zaghari was able to collect $350000 in an online 34-hour aid campaign title “Your Donation Warms Them”.
The campaign aims to help the needy people in refugee camps in Palestine Yemen Lebanon and Syria.
The campaign was organized under the auspices of the Al-Khair Foundation.
The organizers insisted on only using online platforms to collect the aids with the aim of targeting the youths and raising awareness about the refugees’ plight among them.
Adham Abu Salmiya Al-Khair Foundation official pointed out that more than 3000 donors from about 50 countries around the world have participated in the campaign.
Palestine Jordan Saudi Arabia Turkey and the US topped the list of the highest donor countries he underlined.
The participants were mainly social media users and students Abu Salmiya added saying that the average donation was only $116 per person.
Abu Salmiya also thanked all the participants and especially the YouTuber Saleh Zaghari.
For his part Khaled Safi a specialist in digital media hailed the online campaign saying it has achieved many media and charitable successes by using different ideas and tools.
“The campaign has challenged the upcoming campaigns” he added.
The campaign was live on YouTube for more than 35 hours with 350000 views; and thousands more of views on Instagram Safi underlined.
He further pointed out that the campaign hashtag was trending in Palestine Lebanon Jordan Kuwait and Qatar.
He also said that the campaign succeeded to raise awareness about the refugees’ suffering and plight among the new generation.
