Yousef urges prioritizing prisoners in Palestinians abroad conference

Sunday 5-February-2017

Head of the Popular International Committee to Support Gaza Strip Esam Yousef urged the conference for the Palestinians abroad which will kick off at the end of February in Istanbul to prioritize the issue of prisoners.

“Palestinian prisoners are fighting their own battle inside Israeli jails” Yousef said in a press statement on Sunday.

Yousef pointed out that the Israeli occupation authority believes that repressive acts and practices are able to break the Palestinian will while in fact “they make us even stronger.”

“Thousands of prisoners are languishing in Israeli jails some have more than a life sentence because they were charged with nothing but fighting the injustice and racism they witnessed” he added.

Yousef stressed that the Palestinian prisoners are part and parcel of the Palestinian people who insist on having a decent life and freedom.

“The Israeli occupation displaced and uprooted Palestinians from their homes leading them to a life of refugees in Gaza the West Bank and the rest of the world” Yousef underscored.

“Despite all peace agreements signed between the PLO and Israel Palestinian refugees are denied from returning to their homes” he continued.

Yousef affirmed that the Palestinian internal political division should end and efforts should be exerted to form one government to confront the Israeli occupation.
