Member of Hamas’s political bureau Mahmoud al-Zahhar has affirmed that his Movement categorically rejects providing Israel with information about its captive soldiers in Gaza in exchange for allowing the Palestinian side to search for missing citizens inside a border tunnel which was destroyed by the Israeli army a few days ago.
In press remarks to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) on Thursday Zahhar stressed that any information to be provided about Israel’s captive soldiers in Gaza would be only in return for the release of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails.
The Hamas official described Israel’s condition as “despicable extortion.”
“If the occupation officials want to consider such blackmail a kind of a deal we tell them that every inch of this land contains a martyr so nothing would change if they were buried in Gaza or within the borders of the 1948 occupied lands because all these places are our land” he underlined.
