Member of Hamas’s political bureau Mahmoud az-Zahhar said that he and a delegation from his Movement recently discussed with officials from the Egyptian intelligence directorate in Cairo different issues of mutual interest related to Gaza.
After his return to Gaza on Wednesday Zahhar stated in remarks to al-Aqsa satellite channel that he and other Hamas officials discussed during the meeting the economic and security situation in Gaza the movement of passengers at the Rafah border crossing and the bilateral relations.
He pointed out that the meeting was important and necessary to clarify many issues that some media outlets had tried to distort describing the talks with the Egyptian intelligence officials as “positive.”
