GAZA (PIC)– Dr. Mahmoud al-Zahhar the foreign minister in the PA caretaker government on Sunday briefed Arab envoys to the PA on the Makkah agreement and asked for their countries’ support for that accord.
Zahhar spoke of recent Palestinian developments and political moves aimed at ending the siege imposed on the Palestinian people in addition to international stands regarding the Makkah agreement.
He pointed to the importance of the Arab position in support of the Palestinian people affirming that stability of Arab and Islamic countries positively contribute in serving the Palestine cause.
The foreign minister reviewed the Israeli excavations at the Aqsa Mosque and measures to judaize the holy city of Jerusalem along with the Israeli goal of such an escalation in the light of crises engulfing the Hebrew state and the series of scandals of its leaders.
He stressed that the Palestinian captives in Israeli occupation jails should be set free especially children women patients and those serving high sentences describing the question as a priority for the current or any future government.
Shifting to the clashes in southern Gaza Zahhar explained in conclusion that they were not between Hamas and Fatah factions but rather involved clans that were instigated by a third party that did not wish success or implementation of the Makkah agreement.
