PA must show resolve in response to Israeli arrogance

Sunday 4-January-2015

The Nazi-like entity aka Israel has decided to freeze the monthly revenue transfer to the Palestinian Authority (PA) in response to Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s recent decision to seek membership in the International Criminal Court and other international agencies.

According to news reports the Zionist entity decided to freeze a planned monthly transfer of 500 million Israeli shekels (about $125 million) which Palestinians rely on to run their government and pay civil servants’ salaries.

Israel which has effectively killed any remaining chances for establishing a viable Palestinian state in the West Bank described Abbas’s move as “unilateral.”
A PA official denounced the Israeli response as “conspicuously hypocritical and brazenly dishonest.”

“Israeli is very much like a veteran whore who gives lectures on public morality. Israel has built more than 300 illegal settlements on occupied land in the West Bank and transferred as many as 600000 of its citizens to live on land that belongs to another people…and now has the audacity to speak about unilateralism”.

The Palestinian official’s remarks are largely axiomatic and platitudinous. Israel has always behaved as a criminal state and a pariah entity. Unlimited and unrestricted political financial and especially military support enabled Israel to defy international law and fly in the face of the international community even including its guardian-ally the US.

Needless to say the seizure by Israel of Palestinian funds is an act of piracy in broad daylight. But the thief is not always to be blamed for his dastardly actions. Those who entrusted their money and economic lifeline to thieves bear the bulk of the blame.

The PA has only herself to blame.

Besides this is not the first time Israel resorts to this piracy. In fact the Zionist entity has always used the Palestinian tax revenue which Israel levies on behalf of the PA in accordance with the so-called Paris Protocol of 1994 as a blackmail sword constantly drawn against our throats as a people and as an authority.

That is why the Palestinian people need a radical solution for this recurrent nightmare and humiliating blackmail.

Don’t say we are completely powerless because Israel holds all the reins.

We Palestinians have many cards to play against Israeli insolence and arrogance of power. We are already facing a situation where we have nothing to lose.

Mahmoud Abbas his aides hangers-on and highly-paid ministers as well as his so-called security chiefs may have something to lose in case the PA disappears.

However I am confident that the vast majority of our people have nothing to lose as a result to the dismantlement or disappearance of the PA.

But if the PA is reluctant as it is to dissolve itself for one reason or the other it must at the very least maintain a dignified and honorable modus vivendi with the occupying power.

We must not be dishonest with ourselves. Ever since the creation of the PA nearly 20 years ago the PA has been a security enterprise as far as Israel is concerned.

The PA has been arresting hounding tormenting and even murdering Palestinians on Israel’s behalf under the misleading rubric of security coordination.

The PA never tarried for a second in carrying out its “duties” under this one-sided security coordination regime.

The PA hoped this excessive subservience to Israel and her security whims would convince the Zionist leadership to give the PA a certificate of good conduct.

However instead of receiving certificates of good conduct the PA received one humiliation after the other one insult after the other and one indignity after the other. Such is the kismet of those who don’t respect themselves as the great Arab poet Zuheir said 1460 years ago: “Waman la Yokarrem Nafsaho la Yokarrami) (he that doesn’t honor himself will not be honored by others.)

The world community is not going to be more Palestinian than the Palestinians themselves. Even Arab and Muslim states will not challenge Israeli insolence and recalcitrance if and when they watch the PA grovel at Israel’s foot.

Arabs and Muslims as well as honorable people all over the world expect the Palestinians to challenge the Nazis of our time not play the harlot with Israel or accommodate its sick whims.

I hope that Mahmould Abbas’s leadership will for once hear the voice of the people the ordinary man and woman of the wider Palestinian Main Street who are thoroughly fed up with his regime’s cowardice and indecisiveness vis-à-vis the Zionist entity.

The PA was supposed to be a Palestinian national asset. It was supposed to lead to deliverance from the shackles of the decades-old Zio-Nazi occupation. Now it is crystal clear that the PA has become the biggest obstacle impeding Palestinian independence and statehood.

Needless to say an entity as such is not worth keeping.
