Palestinian history is hampered by the Israeli occupation and restrictions but there’s talent and belief in success.
Palestinian refugee student Fatena Manaf Salaymeh made a new Palestinian success story against all odds.
Fatena was one of the outstanding students after obtaining 98.4% in the basic education certificate exams despite her difficult living conditions.
Fatena lives in the Qudsaya area of Damascus after her family was displaced from the Al-Hajar Al-Aswad area south of the Syrian capital due to the bloody bombing.
Fatena is the daughter of a deaf-mute father and a very simple and illiterate mother. However her family’s love was a huge push for her success.
She told the PIC reporter that her very difficult living conditions and the exceptional circumstances she went through including the electricity and Internet outages were a great motivation for her enthusiasm and success.
She further added that she achieved her dream thanks to her parents’ continued encouragement.
Fatena’s family is originally from Al-Shajara village in the Tiberias district in occupied Palestine before being uprooted from their homeland by the Israeli occupation.
