The pain and tragedy in Gaza hospitals persist

After seventy-three days of continuous Israeli aggression that spared no part of the Gaza Strip, violating all international rights and treaties by directly targeting and destroying hospitals, rendering most of them out of service, healthcare workers in Gaza continue to tirelessly work with all available resources to save lives under extremely complex and difficult conditions.

Activists on social media circulated a video recorded by doctors, capturing the moment of a surgical operation in one of Gaza’s hospitals under the lights of flashlights, without anesthesia, amid power outages and severe shortages of medicines and medical supplies.

Hundreds of videos shared by activists and journalists document numerous human stories, revealing the extent of the atrocities committed by the Israeli army against Gaza hospitals and those seeking refuge, whether they are wounded or displaced.

The situation is alarming
The World Health Organization (WHO) described the actual destruction inflicted on Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip as “alarming,” and this operation, according to the international body, resulted in at least 8 casualties.

In a post on X platform, the WHO Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, stated that “several medical personnel have been detained, and the World Health Organization and its partners are urgently seeking information about their situation.”

Crimes against hospitals persist
The spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Dr. Ashraf al-Qudra, affirmed that Israeli forces invaded Al-Awda Hospital on Sunday evening, after days of siege and shelling, and detained and stripped its medical staff, including the hospital director, Dr. Ahmed Mahna.

The Israeli army killed 13-year-old Dina with a shell fired into her bed at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza. She was receiving treatment in the hospital after losing her leg in an airstrike on her family’s home.

The Director-General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Munir al-Bursh, documented the heinous crime committed by the Israeli army forces at Kamal Adwan Hospital two days ago, stating: “We found the bodies of martyrs and wounded people dragged by the Israeli bulldozers among piles of soil in the courtyard of Kamal Adwan Hospital.”
