“Our biggest dream has become to stand by the window and see the sun and the street.” With these words filled with pain, a doctor from the medical staff trapped inside the Al-Amal Hospital sends a message to the world through the only available mobile phone inside the hospital after the occupation army stole all the phones from those present in the hospital.

A message full of tragedy that reflects the situation of the entire Gaza Strip, and it’s not just Al-Amal Hospitals that this enemy is trying to suffocate through its brutal aggression, but all aspects of life in the afflicted enclave since the start of the Israeli Nazi war, during which the occupation army destroyed the majority of the Strip and aspects of life in it.

The doctor continues to convey his message in a video clip in his spontaneous Gazan dialect, “Hello … I don’t know how long we’ve been trapped inside Al-Amal Hospital. Honestly, I stopped counting, but what I want to tell you is, our biggest dream has become to stand by the window, to see the sun and the street, but unfortunately, we can’t, because standing by the window means death, because the occupation snipers target anything that moves inside the hospital.”

The doctor concludes his speech, mixed with pain and hope, “Even our cell phones, which we used to hold, open, and see our pictures, us, our families, our friends, and remember Gaza how it was, the occupation army stole them from us.”

He continues, “We feel they don’t want to leave us with any good memory of this country. Imagine all the staff of doctors at the Hope Hospital use one mobile phone, and every few days, each one of us gets a quarter or a third of an hour to talk to his family and check on them, even connecting the network is difficult.”

He explains the depth of the tragedy they are facing by saying: “Even when we want to connect to the internet or make a call we have to go and stand in a dangerous place.”

He sends an indirect message and a call to action to the world to stop the aggression on hospitals and on all of Gaza, saying: “Another thing I want to tell you is that targeting the hospital doesn’t stop not one day.”

Continuous siege

The Israeli army continues its siege and targeting of the Al-Amal Hospital, spreading tension and panic among all those inside the hospital, including staff, patients, and displaced persons.

The Israeli crimes in the Al-Amal Hospital did not stop there, as few days ago, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) documented scenes of targeting its vehicles and crews who sought to deliver oxygen tanks to the hospital to save the lives of patients.

Activists on the social media documented the tragic situation that the hospital had reached, including the Israeli soldiers’ atrocities against those present in it, including their handcuffing and beating, in scenes that shame humanity. The Israeli crimes against the hospital do not stop, as it seeks to cut off oxygen, light, sun, and everything from those inside. A latest such crime was targeting the desalination station inside the medical facility to cut off their last means of survival and life.

The PRCS said that the water desalination station at Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis has malfunctioned due to being targeted by the Israeli occupation forces.

The Society added on Monday (yesterday) that the amount of drinking water available at Al-Amal Hospital is only sufficient for 3 days.

The occupation directly targeted ambulance cars at Al-Amal Hospital to prevent Red Crescent personnel from performing their duty of transporting patients to the hospital.

Warning of a massacre

The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, warned of the Israeli occupation forces’ intention to commit a new massacre after they stormed the courtyard of the PRCS and Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis.

Hamas noted in a press statement that the occupation forces stormed Al-Amal Hospital amid heavy gunfire at those present, including medical teams, wounded, and displaced persons, while threatening them to evacuate the hospital.

The Israeli war on hospitals continues

The World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Sunday the closure of the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis after a siege lasting more than a week, followed by continuous airstrikes.

In response, the PRCS confirmed that the Israeli occupation army targeted the third floor of Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis with artillery shelling.

Until Sunday, Nasser Hospital was the largest operating medical facility in Gaza. The hospital, under siege, was raided by Israeli forces last Thursday.

As for Al-Amal Hospital, it has been under continuous attack for 27 days, resulting in the death of dozens of patients and displaced persons, while Israeli tanks have been stationed in front of the building for the past two weeks.
