The Iranian attack on Israel: How Gaza experienced an extraordinary night

GAZA, (PIC)

The Palestinians, especially in the Gaza Strip, experienced an extraordinary night, coinciding with a major Iranian attack targeting the occupation entity with dozens of ballistic missiles, alongside a daring operation in the heart of Tel Aviv that resulted in 6 deaths and 18 injuries.

Palestinians in Gaza took to the streets and rooftops of what remained of their homes, chanting and rejoicing in the wake of the Iranian attack, which lasted half an hour. They found solace in it amid the ongoing devastation they have faced for a year, as reported by our correspondent.

Our correspondent explained that Gazans poured into the streets and centers of refuge and displacement, expressing pride in the Iranian strikes, amid cheers, and honking car horns. This was a true expression of the failure of the occupation to suppress their consciousness regarding resistance and its relevance after a year of killing and destruction.

A historic day
Citizen Mahmoud Abu Mahadi (45 years old) rushed with his children to the sea street west of Deir al-Balah to witness the Iranian missiles falling over their occupied land. He said, “This is a historic day; Arab and Islamic countries have not dared to do this since the beginning of the conflict.”

He added in an interview with our correspondent with a smile despite deep wounds and the destruction of homes and property, “This entity will vanish one day; it is not our eternal fate. Its disappearance is inevitable, and this is a promise from the Lord of the Worlds.”

He continued that the Iranian strikes and the solidarity of resistance fronts in various arenas ease the pain of Gazans who have been suffering for a year amid a troubling global silence.

Shouts of takbir
In the streets surrounding the Deir al-Balah camp and its alleys, shouts of takbir rang out from homes, accompanied by calls for revenge against the “Zionist entity”, which is committing the largest genocide in modern times.

Elderly woman Fatima al-Danaf (65 years old) cried in her conversation with our correspondent, saying, “The occupation must end; they must leave this land. The land is ours, and they will not be able to annihilate us. We are the rightful owners of this land.”

Al-Danaf expressed her joy at the Iranian strikes, stating that she supports resistance across the globe and affirms that Palestine is the cause of all the free people in this world. She prayed to God Almighty for clear victory and for mercy upon the martyrs and the wounded.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced the launch of dozens of missiles at Israel, targeting multiple military bases. The missiles hit many buildings, and videos and photos of the aftermath were leaked despite the occupation’s efforts to cover up the results of the strikes.

The glorious October
Citizen Muath al-Fleit (56 years old) states, “I haven’t been happy at all for a year; the occupation destroyed my home. But today, we have the right to rejoice. This is the glorious October, the month of victories,” referring to the pride felt on the day of the great crossing on October 7, 2023.

He added that only the free rejoice at the Iranian strikes, as the Palestinian people are being slaughtered before the eyes of the world. Certainly, this occupation only understands the language of power, and what is taken by force can only be reclaimed by force.

Hamas congratulates
The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, congratulated the launch of Iranian missiles, which came in response to the Zionist aggression against the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.

The Movement said in a press release, “We congratulate the heroic missile launches executed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard in Iran on vast areas of our occupied land, in response to the continuous crimes of the occupation against the peoples of the region and as revenge for the blood of our nation’s martyrs: the martyr Mujahid Ismail Haneyya, martyr His Eminence Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, and martyr General Abbas Nelforushan.”

The Movement affirmed that “this honorable Iranian response is a strong message to the Zionist enemy and its fascist government, aimed at deterring them and curbing their terrorism, as their crimes, arrogance, and violations of international laws and humanitarian norms have exceeded all limits.”

Revenge on the innocent
Because Israel hates the joy of Palestinians, Israeli occupation forces escalated their aggression against innocents in the Gaza Strip, where medical reports recorded the martyrdom of 80 citizens due to artillery and aerial bombardments targeting various areas in the Strip.

Our correspondent reported that Israeli tanks suddenly advanced into areas south of Khan Yunis amid heavy gunfire and fire belts that killed 53 citizens.

The occupation forces also targeted the tents of displaced citizens in central Gaza, resulting in the martyrdom of several citizens, and a school for orphans in Gaza City was also attacked.

An enemy that hates happiness
Researcher and political activist Ahmed Abu Artimeh said, “Our enemy hates joy and happiness and fights it. This is not poetic talk; it is part of the Zionist character.”

He added in a post on Facebook that the recent hours have witnessed a noticeable increase in the killing of civilians in Gaza by the occupation army, noting that there is no field justification that could explain this increase compared to previous days.

He emphasized that the real reason is that people rejoiced last night and took to the streets chanting, which enraged the occupation forces, leading them to commit massacres.

He clarified that the Israeli society is saturated with a disease of hatred, and even the mere presence of joy disturbs them.

Erasing Netanyahu’s euphoria
Israeli affairs expert Dr. Suleiman Basharat believes that “the Iranian strike, in its timing and specifically in its form, will strip away the euphoria that Benjamin Netanyahu tried to showcase regarding his personal abilities to manage this phase (of the battle).”

Basharat continued in a press interview, “Furthermore, Israel has been trying to show that it is able to rebuild the deterrent equation. The immense suffering it has experienced since October 7 still haunts it, which is why its choice of early October to initiate military operations in southern Lebanon is an attempt to erase what remains in the Israeli memory of the resistance’s attack on that day.”

He added, “However, when this barrage of missiles came from Tehran, it brought back to the Israeli memory October 7, which caused a shock to its so-called deterrence, the intelligence apparatus, and the internal psychological state in Israel.”

For this reason, Basharat believes that “the impact of this attack, even if it does not cause any damage—despite reports indicating that a large number of missiles appear to have actually landed and surpassed interception efforts—has caused the psychological, intelligence, military realities, and Israeli prestige, which is most important for the occupation, to once again tremble.”

He observes that “every time Israel tries to repair this image, it gets shattered again. This has happened on several occasions since October 7, including when Tehran responded to the bombing of the Iranian consulate in Damascus, among other incidents.”
