At the dawn of the 1st of Shawal Palestinian Muslims finish distributing zakat/charity to the needy starting the joyful rituals of the Eid Al-Fitr.
They head together men women and children to perform the Eid Prayer and recite takbirat Al-Eid.
Dressed in colorful and new clothes they visit families friends neighbors and relatives.
Women decorate their houses and prepare sweets to receive their relatives.
For kids the Eid is all about getting new toys sweets and the Ediyah (cash gifts).
The Eid tables are laden with a large spread of food and sweets: Cake Maamoul Turkish delights and chocolate.
Guests should eat sweets in appreciation of the hosts. The more they eat the merrier the hosts!
Eid is a reward for a month of fasting a time of joy to forget the Israeli injustices and aggressions.
But Israel had made it a habit to wage wars and commit massacres in Ramadan and during the Eid.
But Palestinians find a way to rejoice because existence is resistance.
