Martyr Ahlam Mustafa was a kind, lovely girl who got engaged to the decent young man, Obaida Al-Baik, just a few days prior to the Israeli atrocious aggression on Gaza which claimed the souls of the newly engaged couple in a merciless bombardment on November 2.

Ahlam’s brother, broadcaster Tareq Mustafa, said that by his sister’s martyrdom “she has won on earth and in heaven. Just a few days prior to the war, the engagement of my sister martyr Ahlam to martyr Obaida Al-Baik was announced. Shortly before the family’s house was targeted, Obaida came to visit us in our home as if was saying, God brought us together in this life to continue our love story in heaven.”

“It was only a matter of moments until their bodies, holding each other’s hands, were recovered. Obaida’s scent was like musk, and with this beautiful fragrance, the wedding of the martyrs must have taken place in heaven with the attendance of the family: my mother, father, my brother Muath, my sister Ilham, my brother Ahmad, my uncle Riad, and 33 other family members who ascended to heaven as martyrs in the treacherous bombing of the family home,” he added.

“My sister once had a dream in which she saw the family being welcomed to paradise. Her dream literally came true,” Mustafa concluded.

Since October 7, Israel has been waging a heinous genocidal war on Gaza Strip via air, ground, and sea attacks, resulting in more than 40,000 martyrs, wounded and missing people. The Israeli aggression was paused for seven days following a renewable four-day humanitarian truce between Hamas and Israel was reached, before it was resumed today, Friday December 1.

“They Are Not Numbers” is a series that reviews part of the available stories of some Palestinian martyrs who have fallen in the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
