The Hamas Movement welcomed the United Nations’ vote for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, calling on the international community to continue its pressure on Israel “to adhere to the resolution and to stop its aggression, genocide, and ethnic cleansing against Palestinians.”
The United Nations General Assembly’s vote for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire reflects the will of the majority of the international community to stop the Israeli aggression and genocide war against Gaza, said Ezzat Al-Resheq, member of the Hamas political bureau.
Late on Tuesday, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution calling for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
153 member states voted in favor of the ceasefire resolution, while 10 countries opposed it and 23 abstained.
