Two more Palestinian journalists were killed in an Israeli attack in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, bringing the death toll of media professionals since October 7 to 109, the Government Media Office said.
In a statement, the office identified the two slain journalists as Hamza al-Dahdouh, the son of Al Jazeera Gaza bureau director Wael Al-Dahdouh, and Mustafa Thuraya. They lost their lives in an Israeli airstrike on their car in Khan Younis City in southern Gaza.
The Media Office denounced “in the strongest terms this heinous crime” that had been committed by the “Israeli occupation army against journalists.”
The Israeli army aims to “intimidate journalists in a failed attempt to obscure the truth and prevent them from media coverage,” the Media Office added.
The Media Office called “on all journalist unions, and human rights and legal bodies to condemn this crime and denounce its repeated commission by the occupation state.”
It also called for pressuring the occupation state to stop the genocidal war against the defenseless people in the Gaza Strip.
