The Palestinian Red Crescent Society documented on Tuesday an audio recording that was published capturing the moment when the child Layan Hamada ,15 years old, was martyred while she was speaking on the phone, seeking help, before the sound of a barrage of bullets was heard towards her vehicle, while her sister Hind, who is 6 years old, remained trapped inside the vehicle, south of Gaza City.
The Israeli army opened fire on a vehicle carrying the child Hind and her family near the Fares fuel station in Gaza, resulting in the martyrdom of all her family members -6 individuals, the mother, father, and their four children-, while Hend continued to appeal to the Palestinian Red Crescent teams to reach her and evacuate her from the area surrounded by Israeli tanks.
The Palestinian Red Crescent sent an ambulance crew to the scene before losing contact with the medical staff and the child Hind together after 18 hours of directing the team to carry out the evacuation operation. The Palestinian Red Crescent said in a statement that it does not know whether its teams were able to reach the child or not, after 30 hours of targeting the vehicle in which Hind was trapped between the bodies of her family next to an Israeli tank.
The Palestinian Association expressed serious concern for the safety of the ambulance crew that headed yesterday evening on a mission to rescue the child Hind Rajab from Gaza City, adding that contact was lost with the crew for about 18 hours, and “we still do not know their fate, and we have no information whether they succeeded in evacuating the child or not.”
This comes as the Israeli occupation army continues, for the 116th consecutive day, to commit massacres as part of the genocide war it is waging against the people of the Gaza Strip, targeting inhabited homes, medical crews, and journalists.
The people of the Gaza Strip are suffering an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, amidst the continuation of aggression and intense indiscriminate shelling, amid the displacement of more than 1.9 million people internally to poorly equipped camps and shelters.
The death toll from the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to more than 26,751 martyrs and 65,636 injured, in addition to thousands of missing persons under the rubble, as well as massive destruction to buildings and infrastructure.
