The Hamas Movement hailed the resistance shooting attack that took place in the West Bank city of Qalqilya on Saturday morning and led to the killing of an Israeli settler.
Hamas said in a statement, “The shooting comes in response to the crimes of the terrorist enemy and its settlers, the most recent of which was the assassination of heroic resistance fighters in the city yesterday,” stressing that “the resistance attacks are the best answer to the criminality of the fascist settlers who wreak havoc in the cities and villages of the occupied West Bank under the protection of the fascist Israeli army.”
Hamas mobilized the West Bankers to confront settlers’ attacks and to deter their incursions in defense of the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, including the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Hamas statement also called on resistance fighters to continue engaging in armed clashes with Israeli occupation forces (IOF) and settlers across the West Bank, stressing the importance of internal unity to be able to defend the Palestinian land and sanctities.
An Israeli settler was shot dead on Saturday morning in Qalqilya by resistance fighters, one day after the IOF assassinated two Palestinian citizens in the same city.
According to local sources, resistance fighters opened fire at a settler as he was driving his car in the city and fatally injured him.
