Who really killed Hassan Nasrallah?

Tuesday 1-October-2024

The Prime Minister of the Zionist entity, the war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, went to the US last week and stained the UN General Assembly with his presence after he had already determined with the Mossad and the US intelligence agencies to assassinate the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah. Israeli jets dropped dozens of tons of high explosives on the southern suburbs of Beirut, the stronghold of the movement. The suburb was levelled and the Hezbollah headquarters were blown up, along with everyone inside, including Nasrallah. He was holding a meeting with the party’s leaders at the time, attended by a senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officer responsible for Lebanese affairs. Nasrallah had just returned from Syria after reportedly meeting with Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad and his aides. Who, I wonder, informed on him and allowed the Israelis to track his movements so closely that they were able to kill him in a move once beyond their wildest dreams?

There is no longer any doubt that Hezbollah has been infiltrated.

The Zionist entity has had several successes in Lebanon recently, from the killing of the Palestinian Hamas leader Saleh Al-Arouri to Hezbollah Chief of Staff Fuad Shukr and the mass explosion of thousands of communication devices. The assassinations continued with the killing of a number of the most important military leaders such as Ibrahim Aqil, the commander of Hezbollah operations and one of its founders, and Ahmed Wahbi, the commander of the Radwan Force, as well as Nasrallah.

Assassinations are cowardly acts by immoral people whose troops have been defeated and who need to show their citizens some sort of “victory” after the many disappointments in Gaza over the course of the past year, during which their stated goals have not been achieved. The occupation state thought that the genocide in Gaza would be a walk in the park that wouldn’t last more than two weeks before they freed the hostages, eliminated Hamas and gathered the heads of its leaders. Now it has swept to the north and into Beirut to kill Nasrallah as an alternative to killing Al-Daif, Abu Obaida and Al-Sinwar in Gaza.

We know that assassinations do not win wars. The political murders of resistance leaders throughout the history of the Zionist state have confirmed this, as resistance capabilities continue to develop.

The Professor of International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science, Dr Fawaz Gerges, told “Al-Masaiyyah” on Al-Jazeera Mubasher that Israel is preparing for a major escalation, taking advantage of the opportunity provided to it by the Biden administration. A prominent US journalist contacted him four hours after his interview and told him that major American newspapers were updating Nasrallah’s obituary in anticipation of the possibility of Israel killing him.

It is fairly clear that the plan to murder Nasrallah was agreed between the US and the occupation state. Over the past few days, the US basically paved the way for the assassination with support operations and diplomatic contacts, crowned by the visit of presidential envoy Amos Hochstein to Tel Aviv, after which he announced his inability to convince the Israelis to stop their advances towards Lebanon.

Meanwhile, the commander of US Central Command visited the border between occupied Palestine and Lebanon to take a look at the attack plan prepared by Israel. A major Israeli escalation followed his visit, coinciding with the arrival of US aircraft carriers in the Eastern Mediterranean.

US statements about Washington’s commitment to Israel’s security, “right to self-defense” and protection flowed as usual, of course, while US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin called his Israeli counterpart, Yoav Gallant — for whom the chief prosecutor at the International Criminal Court wants to issue an arrest warrant — and discussed the situation in Lebanon and Gaza. He reiterated that the US supports Israel in confronting the threats of Iran and Hezbollah.

The end result is that we need to ask ourselves who really killed Nasrallah.

Israel would be unable to carry out its genocide in Gaza and its air strikes in Lebanon without Washington’s unconditional support and green light. It is the US which is behind the escalation of tension, the terrorism and the massacres committed by the Zionist state, whether in Gaza or Lebanon. Its claims to the contrary are for media consumption and PR purposes, nothing more. There is complete coordination at all levels with the apartheid state. It is foolish to think otherwise.

So, who really killed Hassan Nasrallah? Look no further than the Zionist regime in Washington, which is behind every escalation in the Middle East in its pernicious efforts to break the will of its people.
