Northern Gaza Annihilated: Israel expands attacks, targets hospitals, displaces hundreds

For more than two weeks days, Israeli forces have been carrying out the largest ethnic cleansing operation and acts of genocide in northern Gaza, marked by killings, destruction, and forced displacement, all while the international community remains suspiciously silent. This comes amid a total blackout of communication and internet services.

Cries and calls for help echo from the heart of northern Gaza, where residents refuse to leave their homes, preferring to die there rather than flee south. They emphasize that their resistance is a legendary saga that thwarts the plans of the Israeli occupiers, particularly the so-called Generals’ Plan to empty the north of its population and eliminate resistance fighters.

Israel seems to understand that controlling the symbolic Jabalia refugee camp would make it easier to carry out ethnic cleansing in surrounding neighborhoods, which pushes the residents to stand firm despite being bombarded and starved from all directions.

Expanding the fire zone
Mahmoud Abu Sha’ira, a resident trapped in Jabalia camp, told the Palestinian Information Center that Israel has widened its fire zone, targeting everything that moves and every house in the camp’s narrow streets, committing horrific massacres.

Abu Sha’ira added that the sounds of shelling, missile strikes, and drone attacks intensify with each passing day, describing the situation as madness and full of massacres.

He noted that the Israeli army is deploying robots carrying massive amounts of explosives and placing explosive barrels in Jabalia’s streets, particularly in the western areas of the camp, blowing up entire residential blocks despite knowing that civilians are trapped inside. This has led to dozens of deaths and injuries, with civil defense and ambulances unable to reach them.

Most residents are trapped in their homes, Abu Sha’ira explained, and those who dare to go out for food or water are directly targeted by drones, even if they are children or women.

He also mentioned that many of the victims’ bodies lie in the streets, visible from a distance to most residents, but anyone who tries to retrieve them is shot at directly by snipers or drones.

Abu Sha’ira stressed that death doesn’t only come from bombs and bullets, but also from systematic starvation. Residents are without food and water, surviving on very little. “We can barely stand from hunger and weakness,” he said.

He called on the Arab and Islamic nations to rescue them and take honorable stands before it’s too late, warning that northern Gaza is being silently annihilated—a true genocide, the worst in modern history. “They cut off the internet and communication to complete their crime, with the world standing idle amid reckless US support.”

Hospital bombings and siege
On Saturday, Israeli forces bombed al-Awda, Kamal Adwan, and the Indonesian hospitals in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, as part of a campaign of genocide ongoing for over two weeks.

Since early morning, Israeli military forces have besieged the Indonesian hospital, cutting off electricity while bulldozers destroyed parts of its walls. Two of the 40 patients being treated there died due to the oxygen supply being cut off after the power outage.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said, “Israeli artillery has targeted the upper floors of the Indonesian hospital in northern Gaza.”

The ministry reported that the Israeli army targeted a group of displaced people in front of the hospital gate and continued to heavily fire at the hospital building and its courtyards, causing panic among patients and medical staff. This attack has led to a complete blackout in the hospital.

Marwan al-Sultan, director of the Indonesian hospital, confirmed that Israeli tanks have surrounded the hospital from all sides.

In a statement, al-Sultan said that Israeli forces fired several flares over and inside the hospital early Saturday morning, leaving the medical staff and patients in a state of extreme fear.

He added that “the electricity has been cut, and we can’t restore it due to the dangerous situation and the presence of Israeli forces in the area.”

“We have 30 injured people in the hospital, in addition to the patients, 10 of whom require constant oxygen. They are at risk of deliberate death if the power remains out,” al-Sultan stated.

He further emphasized that Israel is systematically destroying the healthcare system as a means to pressure citizens to flee northern Gaza.

Al-Awda hospital in Tel al-Za’tar, northern Gaza, reported that “Israeli artillery shelled the upper floors of the hospital three times, wounding several medical staff members.”

According to a medical source, Israeli military vehicles and drones opened heavy fire and shelled several targets near the hospital.

The source added that the shelling caused fear and panic among patients, the wounded, and the medical teams inside the hospital.

Local sources reported that Israeli warplanes bombed the entrance of the medical lab at Kamal Adwan hospital and surrounded it with drones, leaving the patients, wounded, and medical staff in catastrophic conditions under severe threat.

Internet blackout
As part of its efforts to obscure its crimes in the area, Israeli forces cut off the internet in northern Gaza, which was confirmed by the Palestinian Telecommunications Company on Saturday.

The company, Gaza’s sole internet provider, announced: “Due to the ongoing Israeli aggression on northern Gaza, we regret to announce a complete internet blackout in the area.” Local sources said the Israeli army had cut off telecommunications and internet services in northern Gaza.

Forced displacement
Early Saturday morning, Israeli forces besieged four shelters housing hundreds of displaced people before forcing them out, arresting dozens of men and boys while driving the others out of the area. The displaced people were told to head south, but many chose to go to nearby neighborhoods just north of Gaza City.

Our correspondent reported that the Israeli army surrounded four schools, a sports club, a wedding hall, and some other institutions and associations, all of which were being used as shelters during the war.

Abu Mohammed, who was trapped in the Aleppo School in Jabalia camp, said, “Israeli forces advanced toward the shelters near the Indonesian hospital, causing panic among the displaced, most of whom are women, children, and the elderly.”

He added, “This is the third time in this war that Israeli forces have raided these shelters, committing massacres and atrocities against the displaced.”

Eyewitnesses said Israeli forces dug a deep pit near the Indonesian hospital and placed some of the men they arrested from the shelters into it, with their hands tied and eyes blindfolded.

The witnesses confirmed that men, women, and children were subjected to humiliation, abuse, and, in some cases, severe beatings and torture by Israeli forces around the hospital.

Journalist Islam Badr reported that people are being forcibly displaced under gunpoint from schools near the Indonesian hospital to Gaza City, revealing that residents were subjected to humiliations, body searches, and field interrogations.

Badr added that while there are no confirmed reports of executions, it is highly likely, as it has occurred before. When people return, they may discover such executions have taken place.

He denied the claim that only women were being displaced, confirming that the displaced people belong to all groups, with several men being arrested.

Declaring a disaster zone
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has called on the United Nations to declare northern Gaza a disaster zone, demanding immediate interventions and pressing Israel to halt the genocide, including imposing a comprehensive arms embargo.

In a statement on Saturday, the Monitor highlighted that Israeli forces are systematically committing mass killings, starvation, forced displacement, and the total destruction of whatever remains of essential services, warning that the international community’s silence makes it complicit in this horrific genocide.

The Euro-Med Monitor stated that its field team has been documenting horrific crimes against civilians in Jabalia camp and northern Gaza, with the Israeli offensive reaching its peak on the evening of October 18th, when the Israeli army bombed several homes of the Hawajri, Nassar, and Abu al-Aish families in Tel al-Zaatar, Jabalia camp. The bombing resulted in the deaths of 33 Palestinians and injuries to over 70 others.

The rights group noted that many other Palestinians remain missing, with the death toll from the recent attacks in northern Gaza reaching 500, with dozens still trapped under rubble or in the streets, in addition to thousands more injured.

The Monitor concluded by saying that Israeli forces targeted a densely populated residential block with several missiles, demolishing it on top of its residents. The attack’s sole purpose was to kill whoever remained there and force any survivors to flee the camp.
