At least 58 Palestinian civilians were martyred across the Gaza Strip in a renewed wave of Israeli airstrikes, which started at dawn Wednesday.

According to local media sources, five people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a civilian vehicle in Misbah area in Rafah, south of Gaza.

A woman and child were martyred and others, mostly women and children, were injured in an aerial attack on a house belonging to the Shibli family in the north of an-Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

An Israeli strike also killed three citizens near the Mahatta Mosque in al-Tuffah neighborhood in the east of Gaza City.

Another strike on a house claimed the lives of 25 people, including children, and injured others in al-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City.

Four citizens were martyred and several others were injured after a warplane bombed a house belonging to the family of Abu Daf in Salahuddin street in az-Zeitoun area, south of Gaza City.

In northern Gaza, an airstrike on a house in ash-Shimaa area killed three people and injured others.

Earlier, medical sources said that 16 citizens, including a pregnant woman, were martyred and many others were injured in dawn airstrikes on different areas of Gaza.

At least 429 Palestinians had been killed and 562 wounded as the Israeli army launched a massive surprise attack on Gaza at dawn Tuesday, shattering the fragile two-month-old ceasefire with the Palestinian resistance.

Yesterday’s attack took place across Gaza, including in Khan Younis and Rafah in southern Gaza, Gaza City in the north, and central areas like Deir el-Balah.

Most of those killed in the Israeli attacks were children and women, Gaza’s health ministry said, adding that the death toll is likely to rise as many people are in critical condition or still under the rubble of buildings.

One Israeli captive was reportedly killed and others were injured in the Israeli airstrikes.

In a related context, the Islamic Jihad Movement announced on Tuesday the martyrdom of its military spokesman, Naji Abu Saif, known by the nom de guerre “Abu Hamza,” in an Israeli airstrike on Tuesday.

Abu Hamza was the spokesman for al-Quds Brigade (Saraya al-Quds), the armed wing of Islamic Jihad.

“With great pride and honor, the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine announces to our great Palestinian people and to the Arab and Islamic nations the martyrdom of leader Naji Abu Saif Abu Hamza.”

The Movement added that Abu Hamza was “assassinated by the criminal army in a treacherous attack that also targeted his family and the family of his brother.”
