RAMALLAH (PIC)– The PA government on Saturday signed an agreement with the syndicate of civil servants stipulating an end to the employees’ strike and returning to work as of Sunday in return for a government commitment to pay their salaries and to schedule their arrears.
The signing ceremony was held in Ramallah in the presence of PA deputy premier and education minister Dr. Nasseruddin Al-Sha’er and planning and acting finance minister Dr. Samir Abu Aisha in addition to representatives of the workers syndicate a representative of PA chief Mahmoud Abbas and other officials and MPs.
Shaer expressed pleasure over conclusion of the agreement and hoped at the same time that dialogue for the formation of a national unity government would resume soon.
