Member of Hamas’s political bureau Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk said that he discussed with Egyptian officials during his current visit to Cairo several issues of mutual interests and the latest developments in the Palestinian arena.
In an interview conducted with him by al-Quds satellite channel Abu Marzouk stated that the meetings and contacts with Egyptian officials did not stop affirming that there would be other visits by him and other Hamas officials to Egypt.
He added that his visit to Cairo started a few days ago and his meetings with Egyptian officials were normal stressing his Movement’s keenness on maintaining its contacts with Egypt.
The Hamas official said he briefed the Egyptians on the meetings that had taken place between officials from Hamas and Fatah abroad including the last one in Doha.
He also said he discussed with the Egyptians his Movement’s position on the intended meeting which the Palestinian Authority said it would convene for the Palestinian National Council in Ramallah in addition to the movement of individuals and goods at the Rafah border crossing and Gaza-related issues.
