Renewed clashes broke out on Wednesday evening between angry young men and soldiers from the Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces in the Old City of Nablus.
Eyewitnesses reported that the clashes started after a PA security force stormed once again some neighborhoods of the Old City as part of West Bank campaigns to arrest gunmen.
They added that the PA soldiers turned Ras al-Ein neighborhood into a military post while local young men closed some roads surrounding the Old City with burning tires.
They also said they heard an exchange of sporadic gunshots during the PA security campaign in Nablus without knowing where exactly it took place or if anyone was wounded as a result of that.
Meanwhile Palestinian journalists complained that PA security elements prevented them from taking photos during their presence in the Old City.
In an earlier incident a woman was proclaimed dead after she suffered a serious bullet injury during armed clashes between PA security soldiers and young gunmen.
