Thousands of protesters urge Netanyahu to step down over corruption

Sunday 17-December-2017

Thousands of people on Saturday marched in Tel-Aviv calling for a firm stance against the corruption of Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

For the third week the protesters gathered in Tel Aviv where they chanted slogans pushing for overthrowing Netanyahu who was interrogated on several occasions over corruption charges.

Some 150 persons also rallied outside Netanyahu’s residence chanting “Fascism now . . . chaos later on” and “the people will not remain mum; Dictatorship is no joke.”

Since last year Netanyahu has been the subject of criminal investigations in two separate corruption cases.

The first case involves Hollywood producer Arnon Milchan who was reportedly asked to purchase luxury items for Netanyahu and his wife Sara Netanyahu.

The second case relates to charges that Netanyahu struck a deal for favorable media coverage with Arnon Mozes publisher of popular Hebrew-language newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.

Netanyahu’s wife Sara has also been questioned by police regarding earlier corruption allegations.
