Semester suspended at American University in Jenin for 5th day

Saturday 7-October-2017

Students of the Arab American University in Jenin on Saturday continue their open strike for the fifth day in a row in view of the absence of any solution to their problems despite the mediation efforts made by some official bodies.

The University’s students council said in a press statement on Friday evening that the strike will continue until all of the students’ demands are met.

The council said “We were hoping that our dear university would invite us to discuss the demands put forward instead of responding by statements accusing us of refusing to dialogue with the administration.”

The demands announced by the students council include reducing the fees of certain courses improving the health insurance services cancelling the fees of urgent documents activating academic excellence grants and installing air conditioners in the university halls.
