Secretary of Fatah’s central committee Jibril Rajoub has said that the national council will be convened in the Gaza Strip after the Palestinian rivals agree to end the division and achieve the reconciliation.
In press remarks to al-Quds newspaper Rajoub stated that the Fatah central committee chaired by president Mahmoud Abbas discussed on Saturday evening the meeting that Abbas held with US president Donald Trump in New York and the inter-Palestinian reconciliation efforts.
The Fatah official expressed his optimism that the current efforts to end the division would culminate with success.
He affirmed that the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) would also convene during the coming days in the presence of mayors and officials from the security apparatuses to discuss the reconciliation efforts.
